He was brought up in a culturally diverse household where music was an integral fixture. His dad regularly played jazz and blues in the house while his mother was always listening to Egyptian music. At the age of five, two years after arriving in California, he was introduced to a dynamic new sound that left quite a lasting impression. As a young kid, his affinity for hip­hop was nurtured via the sounds of 90s hip­hop figures like The Notorious B.I.G., 2pac, and Bone Thugs­N­Harmony as well as Snoop Dogg and Too Short.
